Noti and Balma support vocational education
Tarnowo Podgórne municipality is implementing a new project, setting up a Complex of Technical Schools. This joint initiative of the municipal authorities and local entrepreneurs was inspired by the need to generate qualified professional staff for companies operating in the region.
Ryszard Balcerkiewicz, the founder of Noti and Balma companies, has also decided to join the project, highlighting the need to support vocational education of young people and the important role of economic development of the region.
Letters of intent have already been signed, the walls of the school are rising up, and the project is taking a concrete shape. Although the school will officially open its doors in September 2020, we are already promoting the educational offer of the new facility together with the originators of the project and Meble Balma.
Noti is a patron of classes that will train future seamsters and seamstresses, as well as upholstery makers, while Balma will support classes dedicated to the training of future joiners and locksmiths.
Information about the practical aspects of training, specific features of different professions, and job prospects after graduation is provided to potential students through vocational counsellors in local primary schools. They have already visited Noti and Balma companies. Presentations of both brands and factory visits were conducted in order to show the venues where students of the new Complex of Technical Schools will be able to complete their work experience internships, and graduates might apply for jobs.
In addition, a round of informational meetings with Balma and Noti representatives was set up in selected primary schools in the Tarnowo Podgórne municipality in October and November this year. Students had an opportunity to get to know their potential future employers better. We outlined the history of both companies and briefly presented the specific features of different jobs. Our goal was to encourage students to focus on educational programmes which will give them specific professional skills over a short period of time, so that they are easily able to find a satisfying job.
We hope that the new Complex of Technical Schools will attract a lot of students, and this large-scope project will prove to be a success.
We are happy to be able to contribute to this unique endeavour.
